    1. Re: [TNCHAT] Counter wars
    2. They have a pretty good service Bill. I've never heard any complaints about them at all. One website said they cause spam but I can hardly see how they can be blamed for that. Given most of us have signed up for hundreds of doo-dads how do we tell where the spam came from? One thing they do is track stats to your site. While some people may not see the need for that, let me give you this idea. What resolution do most people see your site in? Finding out that more than 80% of my viewers see my site at a larger screen prompted me to start making my pages wider for my County and State pages. While most visitors to Maynardville.Com see it at lower screen. I use tables to keep it sized down so they can avoid side scroll. Also much has been made about people surfing with non graphic browsers. People say don't use java, don't use javascript etc because many people can't see it. I have head this about frames and tables also. Fact is, this is very very rare. Stats help you track things like that. Beseen has a good service, but a counter by itself may feed our egos, a counter with stats like the one you just used can be a great asset. I also use Linkcounter. They don't do counters, but they do stats. Configured correctly, you can see where people enter your site and what pages they go to once there. Plus it's totally invisible. This helps you promote areas of your site that aren't getting enough attention. Link placement on your webpages figures huge into this. Chip
