    3. Oh...you also asked had we ever run across anything like this. Ummm...not quite as big a mystery....but sort of run across yes. Have found a number of neat things of the past in the old house I live in, including an 1897 almanac and a ream of ancient newspapers, other things here and stuffed in odd places....but I know who left them here...they simply got left behind in the shuffle of moving and a thousand wonders they were not burnt as that was the instructions as to what to do with what we did not want. But no serendipity like tin cans in the yard...nada.
