Charlie McKinney had at least 40 children with 4 different wives in old Burke County, NC. There is a book available by Estella McKinney Harper titled "Charlie McKinney and related families" that gives the details of his life and families. Charles is the son of William and Mary McKinney. The McKinney dna project is looking for males with the surname of McKinney to take the dna test and I am offering to pay for it if we can track the family back to William McKinney (1735-1814 Burke Co, NC) or Charles McKinney (1773-1858). Many McKinney families from Carter Co. Tenn are from this line. Dr David Bell was not killed in the Limestone Cove Massacre but died in 1893 after suffering a stroke several years earlier. He married many people in Unicoi County, TN.
