I am looking for information about my ggg grandfather, William Thompson, and his wife Winnie Thompson, who lived in Carter County, TN in the early-mid 1800s. I found them as next-door neighbors to Larkin and Mary Thompson on the 1850 census, and their ages make it about right for William to be Larkin's oldest son. I also know that William was listed on a Carter County bond record, along with Larkin's wife Mary and a man named Henry Little (?), as administrators of Larkin's estate when he died. That is all I know, though, and would love to find more info and possibly something definitively linking Larkin and William as kin. Family history has it that William died while serving as a scout during the Civil War, but we don't know exactly where or when. I do know he doesn't appear again after the 1860 federal census which showed him living with wife Winnie and their children in Washingto! n County, TN. I'm hoping the Carter County book you have might mention him since he lived in that county for so long. Thank you so much for any help you can give me!
