I'm writing about an ancestor that is one of the largest brick walls in my entire family tree. My ancestor, John Chambers, is buried in Green Hill Cemetery. He was a solider in the War of 1812. I know he was born in South Carolina around 1787 and died in Carter County in 1848. He was married to Louvina (often called Lavina or Viney) Jane Chambers, born about 1893 in South Carolina. I have no idea when she died or where is is buried. She was living with her Daughter Rosannah Jane Hendricks, in 1880. They were still in Carter County. I can't find anything on either of them aside from that. John had three children altogether. I am descended from David T. Chambers who married Mary Ann Smith. David T. was in the Civil War and is the father of James Chambers (all of Carter County) who married Julia Davis. Everything is fairly established beyond that point. It is impossible to find anything on John or Lavina. Any help will be much appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
