Regarding my previous query about a Civil War diary kept by William Elbert Franklin Sevier Milburn of the 12th Regiment, Tennessee Cavalry (Union), I had a tip to check the Divine Family Papers at the University of Tennessee's Hoskins Library. I was advised that no such diary is included in that collection. If anyone has other suggestions, I'd be most grateful. Hayes wrote that "This diary is now in the possession of Mr. John Lindsay, with a copy in the possession of Miss Milburn Divine, Johnson City, Tennessee, who is the granddaughter of the author." Is anyone familiar with these people or the possible whereabouts of the diary/copy today? Allen Ellis
