He is survived by his wife, his father and children, Albert Glover of Bristol, Will Glover, of Elizabethton, Worley Glover of Elizabethton, and J. C. Glover, of Elizabethton; Mrs. J. C. Cross of Knoxville, Mrs. Rex Rankin, Knoxville, Mrs. T. A. McNutt, Bristol, Miss Bettie Glover, Elizabethton, and Ottie B. Glover of Elizabethton. The funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church at Bluff City at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, the Rev. J. M. Good officiating. Interment will be at the Morning View Cemetery. She was formerly of this section. GLOVER, Eliza Jane Minton "Elizabethton Star," Tuesday, December 8, 1936 MRS. GLOVER DIED TODAY Mrs. Eliza Jane Glover, 60, supervisor of the box department at the Tennessee Line & Twine Company of this city, succumbed to a nine days' illness this morning at 2:15. Funeral services will be conducted from the First Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 with the Rev. C. L. Bowden officiating, assisted by the Rev. S. H. Austin and the Rev. W. F. Pitts. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery. Music will be in charge of Mrs. C. L. Bowden with Miss Gladys Pitts as soloist. Mrs. Glover, a native of Carter County, was born July 23, 1876 to Rufus Granville and Ann Hastletine Minton. She was also the granddaughter of the late Richard Jacks, Baptist minister in the mountains of this county. On February 23, 1895 she married to S. J. Glover, who preceded her in death eight years ago. Thirty-four years ago she began her work at the Line & Twine Company where she served until the time of her illness. She was held in high esteem by the employees and officials of the plant and was always faithful and punctual in performing her duties. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church for many years. Survivors of the deceased are two daughters, Mrs. Robert Davis and Miss Goldie Glover; one sister, Mrs. T. N. Hawkins; and three grandchildren, Robert Lee, Virginia and Jady Davis, all of this city. Active pallbearers will be H. C. Kane, Howard Clarke, G. E. Mottern, Bob Riggs, Cameron Smith, G. E. Lacey, Hicks Davis and Matney Simerly. GLOVER, Goldie "Elizabethton Star," Sunday, March 27, 1949 GOLDIE GLOVER Miss Goldie Glover, age 47, died in a hospital in Newberry, South Carolina, Saturday at 12:20 o'clock after a lingering illness. Miss Glover was a native of Carter County. She had been an employee of American Bemberg for the past 15 years. Survivors are one sister, Mrs. Robert M. Davis of Elizabethton; one niece, Mrs. Helen Virginia Kinder of Newberry, S.C.; one nephew, First Lt. Judson A. Davis, U.S. Medical Department, Fort Jackson, S. C. Funeral services will be conducted at the chapel of the Roy Hathaway Funeral Home, Monday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock with Rev. W. M. Taggart and Rev. George Westmoreland officiating. Active pallbearers: John Stout, Steve Burnett, Ruben Carden, Allen Dewitt Cole Jr., Earl Holly, Ernest Cardwell, Robert Burrow, Edwin Laws. GLOVER, Hamp "Elizabethton Star," Saturday, May 18, 1946 HAMP GLOVER Hamp Glover, age 66, died at his home Route 2, Elizabethton, Friday evening at 8:45 p.m. after an illness of one year. Mr. Glover was a former employee of American Bemberg. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist church. Survivors are his wife Mrs. Lucy Glover, foster daughter, Ida Dykes, foster son, Elmer Glover, Route 2, Elizabethton; two sisters, Josie Merritt, route 2, Elizabethton, Dora Sims, Avard, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 from the Christian Church at Valley Forge with the Rev. John Mathis and Rev. John Fineout officiating. Music will be in charge of Abe Little. Burial will be made in the family cemetery. Active pallbearers: Hugh, Andy, Hobert Murray, Grant, Lloyd Merritt, Johnny Campbell. GLOVER, Helen Ruth "Elizabethton Star," Wednesday, January 4, 1950 HELEN RUTH GLOVER Helen Ruth Glover, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Glover, died in a local hospital Tuesday. Survivors are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Glover; four sisters, Millie Mae, Charlotte, Christine and Mary; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Trusler; and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Rhoda Seaboch. Short services will be conducted from the home of 814 North Roan Street on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. Elwood Kern officiating. Burial will be made in the Colbaugh Cemetery. Interment in family cemetery. GLOVER, James A. "Elizabethton Star," Monday, April 20, 1936 JAMES A. GLOVER James A. Glover, 76, died Sunday morning at his home on Gap Creek. He was a member of the Jr. O.U.A.M. Council No. 1. Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. M. S. Murray, Mrs. Wheeler Merritt and Mrs. Cyrus Sims of Oklahoma; and one brother, Hamp Glover. Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at two o'clock at the South Side Mission with the Rev. John Hall and Rev. G. H. Laws officiating. Interment was in the Murray Cemetery. GLOVER James Edward Glover, 58, of Route 1, Hampton died in the Veterans Administration Hospital at Mountain Home Wednesday at 8:40 p.m. He was a member of the Union Baptist Church at Carden Bluff, a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion. Funeral services were to be conducted Friday at 3:00 p.m. at home in Gap Creek with the Rev. W. W. Ward and the Rev. Clarence Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Dividing Ridge Cemetery. He is survived by his foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Campbell of Gap Creek; six sisters, Mrs. P. F. Smith, Mrs. Ethel Campbell and Mrs. Pauline Potter all of Hampton, and Mrs. Bert McNabb and Mrs. Bernie Bryant both of Johnson City and Mrs. Rile Lewis of Erwin; five half brothers, G. M. Campbell of Hampton, James Carden of Elizabethton, Cart and Fate Oliver both of Hampton and Will Oliver of Carderview. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the home in Gap Creek with the Rev. W. W. Ward and the Rev. Clarence Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Dividing Ridge Cemetery. MARGARET GLOVER Mrs. Margaret Glover, 88, died at her home in Sullivan County last night at 11:35 o'clock, after a lingering illness. Surviving are one brother, Joe Carr; one niece, Mrs. Roosevelt Beaver, and one nephew, Andy Hale. Glover, age 80, died at her home, 910 Oak Street, Friday morning at 4:35, after a lingering illness. Mrs. Glover was the daughter of Julie and George Hammit, one of the earliest settlers of Carter County. She was a member of the Christian Church. Survivors are her daughter, Mrs. Roscoe Roberts, three granddaughters, Mrs. Robert Gene Canter, Arlene and Careta Rogers, of Elizabethton; one brother, J. C. Hammit, Elizabethton; five sisters, Mrs. Emma Headrick, Mrs. Ollie Hill, Elizabethton; Mrs. E. N. Hopkins, Johnson City, Mrs. George Treadway, Jonesboro, Mrs. John Gibson, Straw Plains; two half-sisters, Mary and Dolly Hammit, Elizabethton. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock from the First Christian Church with Rev. Fred W. Smith in charge, assisted by Rev. James A. Clark. Rev. Fred W. Smith will be in charge of music. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. The body will be returned to the home 210 Oak Street Friday afternoon and will remain there until 1:30 Sunday when it will be removed to the church to lie in state until time for the services. GLOVER, Nellie "Elizabethton Star," Wednesday, July 27, 1932 MISS NELLIE GLOVER Miss Nellie Glover, 29, daughter of Mrs. Addie Glover, died at her home at 304 Watauga Avenue at 2:15 this morning after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her mother, and three sisters, Mrs. Don Williams, Mrs. Dan Rash, and Miss Joanna Glover. The services will be held at the First Christian Church at 2:30 Thursday afternoon. The Rev. J. J. Musick will be in charge. Burial will be made in the Fulkerson Cemetery near Renfro. Active pallbearers will be J. H. Geisler, H. S. Dunning, Landon Chambers, Harry Scott, J. D. His wife died in 1936. GLOVER, Randolf "Elizabethton Star," Thursday, April 14, 1932 RANDOLF GLOVER Randolf Glover, one-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Glover, died at the home, 906 Oak Street, Wednesday morning at 10:40 after a short illness. Funeral services will be held in Sullivan County Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in the family cemetery. GLOVER, Rebecca Elizabeth "Elizabethton Star," Monday, October 25, 1948 REBECCA ELIZABETH GLOVER Rebecca Elizabeth Van Huss Glover, 81, died at her home on Route 1, today at 11:00 a.m. after a five months illness. She was a member of the Siam Baptist Church and a descendant of a pioneer family. She is survived by her husband R. L. Glover; two sisters, Miss Nancy Heaton of the home, Mrs. J. C. Collins of Elizabethton, Route 1. Funeral arrangements, which are incomplete, are under the direction of the Tetrick Funeral Home. REBECCA ELIZABETH GLOVER Funeral services for Mrs. Rebecca Elizabeth Glover, 81, who died at her home on Route 1, Monday at 11:00 a.m. after a five months illness, will be conducted at the Siam Baptist Church, of which she was a member, Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. H. C. Hopkins and the Rev. Johnnie Riddle officiating. Burial will be in the Heaton Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be C. G. GLOVER, Rondal "Elizabethton Star," Friday, April 22, 1932 RONDAL GLOVER Rondal Glover, one-year-old, who died Wednesday morning, was buried in Sullivan County with the Rev. John Mathews in charge of the services. The baby died at the home of his aunt, Mrs. L. Madans, 904 Oak Street after a short illness. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Glover. Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the home with the Rev. John Hall officiating. Interment was in the McKinney Cemetery. Survivors are the parents; one sister, Maxine, and two brothers, Ralph and Bowman. GLOVER, William A. "Elizabethton Star," Friday, Dec. 12, 1930 WILLIAM A. GLOVER William A. Glover, 76, died today at Valley Forge. The services will be held at Christ's church, Valley Forge, Saturday afternoon, 2 p.m., with the Rev. Gentry in charge. Interment will be in Sims cemetery. He is survived by his wife; six children; three boys and three girls; two sisters, Mrs. James Lyons, Johnson City, and Mrs. Lizzie Campbell, Fish Springs. He was a church member for 50 years.
