Kilburns old cabin is cited in some early land records in Carter county as being located on the Laurel Fork of the Holston which seems to be located in what is now Johnson County which was formed from Carter County in l836. Carter County was formed out of Washington County in l796 and a Henry Kilburn is cited in some old land records there. I don't know if Elijah Kilburn was the person who had the cabin in Carter County but he did not own the land.
