One was killed and I forget if the other made it through or not. But "my" Richard Holden was in the UNION army. He was born in NC around 1820 but was in Tennessee by 1863 where he joined the UNION army. I was trying to find him in the Confederate lists and then I went back to the record I had found on ancestry and there it is stated plain as day UNION. He was in company G of the 13th Tennessee Calvary. I knew there were southerners who fought for the North but this is the first one I've come across in specific research. I know he survived because he applied for a pension. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
