I expect I will have to do research closer to Pulaski County VA, and not necessarily on the internet, to find out what may have happened to Rhoda. Don't know of any death indexes for Pulaski County online, and the cemetery information online doesn't show a Rhoda Miller in Pulaski to the best of my knowledge. A letter from a distant relative of both Rhoda and John, to his (the distant relative's) family in the North, which is now in a document collection in a history museum in Knoxville, refers to their marriage in 1849 and their move from Blount County TN to live "on the New River" in Virginia. I have assumed that this information, and the 1850 census, placed them in Pulaski County, VA, by 1850. Rhoda's 1850 age of 26 would be consistent with information from the 1830 census household of James Kirby in Blount County, TN (who died in 1835).
