We went on a genealogy trip-- summer of 2004 to many states--TN, N.C., S.C, GA, PA etc. We went to the state archives plus the county genealogy libraries. I found some information in Knox Co. TN Library and found a book in Doylesville, PA written by the Hyders & it lists the Hyders (Hider) going back to Michael Heider & wife Katrina coming on a passenger ship "The Mortonhouse" arriving in Philadelphia Aug 17, 1729 and it lists their descendants. They had son Michael Hider who m. Elizabeth WOOD. Son Michael & Elizabeth Wood Hider had son John Hider b. 14 Sept 1765 d. 1833 m. 1st Rose English b. 1766 d. 1818 2nd wife Nancy Weatherington. John & Rose English Hider's children were: Elizabth Hyder b. 29 Dec 1790 Jane Hyder b. 3 Aug 1792 Orpha Hyder b. 16 July 1794 d. 26 Jan 1813 M.E. Hyder b. 6 Aug 1796 Nancy Hyder b. 25 July 1798 Lucinda Hyder b. 17 Oct 1800 m. 19 Dec 1817 Carter TN Capt. John C. Young.
