They lived in Washington, Sullivan and Carter counties. Lucas Massengill, a member of the Watauga Association. His son, Michael Massengill, was a soldier of the Revolutionary war. His son, Benjamin Massengill, was the father of Mrs. Susan (Massengill) Miller born abt. 1816, who married George Miller born abt. 1805. George was a soldier in the Army from 1830- 1832 and received a pension in 1851 and they were the parents of: Catherine Easter born 1839 married Samuel R. Miller June 22, 1858 in Sullivan County Mary E. born abt. 1841 William P. born abt. 1844 Harriett E. born abt. 1847 was "deaf and dumb" as listed on census records Alice O. born abt. 1854 married Samuel Bishop in Carter County. George and Susan Massengill Miller are probably buried with the Bishop family in the Old Slagle Cemetery in Carter County but I have no dates as to when they died no have I found them on the index for the cemetery.
