    3. Bell Cemetery Marker, Located on highway 107 in Limestone Cove It reads ---- Historical Marker ---- "Limestone Cove Tragedy" Here are buried the eight civilians killed at the home of Dr. David Bell, in Nov. 1863. enroute to Kentucky to join Federal forces, they were found by a detachment of Col W.W. Witcher's Conferderate Cavalry, while waiting for breakfast. They were: B. Blackburn, Calvin Cantrel, Elijah Gentry, Jacob Lyons, Wiley Royal, John Sparks and two unknown. Buried nearby is Dr. Bell's brother, James, killed at the same time. I have a list of the people buried in the cemetery. There are no "Frye's", however there are some Campbells, and Davis's. Let me know if you have a name to look up in any of the Unicoi Cty cemeteries. I have the book "Cemeteries of Unicoi County Tennessee." I have 4 sets of ancestors buried in the Bell Cemetery. Bells, Bakers, and Garlands. Jacque Baker -----Original Message----- From: G. To All: I have read somewhere that some men were ambushed and killed near Limestone Cove? during the Civil War. I believe one was named Frye can anyone enlighten me further on this story? I believe a man named Albert Frye who died 1864 may have been one of these and I am in contact with a person who is possibly a descendent and a cousin of mine. Thanks for any Information, Discussion or Clues on this story. G. Lee Hearl Authentic Appalachian Storyteller Abingdon, Va.
