I will check to see if the book "Fox Fire Book Vol. Four is at the Library. It will be interesting to see pictures and read about Tom Campbell (who lived to be 100!) of Mitchell, NC...my great, great, great grandfather! Longevity seems to be a characterstic of the Campbells other than Albert E Campbell who apparently died at about 30 years old (1834-1864). Will also check out the WPA government website, "Shave Them" story to find out about Simon Herrell. Very mysterious, and I can't wait!

To All: I have read somewhere that some men were ambushed and killed near Limestone Cove? during the Civil War. I believe one was named Frye can anyone enlighten me further on this story? I believe a man named Albert Frye who died 1864 may have been one of these and I am in contact with a person who is possibly a descendent and a cousin of mine.
