One of the reasons I would like to get a copy of his pensions records is I was reading to my dad what a cousin sent me as a partial abstract of it and he had caught the part about him being captured at Camden, SC and put in prison. It just so happen that my other 5th. great grandfather " Hardy Carter " Hardy served 4 years in the Revolution under Gen. Francis Marion, enlisting Sept. 3, 1778, in 4th Artillery Regiment of S. C.. This was documented in the Bibliographic Information: Seaver, J. Montgomery. Carter Family Records. American Historical Society, Philadelphia 1929. He was one of the 17 men that helped free Leonard BOWERS from prison along with Francis Marion. I would like to put his papers with the one that I have of my other grandfathers, not only for the school project and maybe I could research the Camden, SC battle more and write an article on how one grandfather saved another. I know I can order a copy from the Archives but I would not be able to get it by April for my project. My father told me that it was ironic that so many of our ancestors crossed paths in years past.
