    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Potter, Swinney Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EeB.2ACE/69.69.2.2 Message Board Post: Does anyone have a Margaret(Peggy) Swinney born 1824. She was suppose to have been married to John Potter born 1813. They had at least one child John Potter/Swiney born 1843. John died during the Civil War. I found Margaret with what appears to be her grandparents in 1850 in Carter County. 1850 Carter County, TN census, district6, household # 35-35 Joseph Swiney, age 92, born NC, married 28 November 1795 Susannah Swiney, age 74, born NC Margaret Swiney, age 24, born TN John Swiney, age 7, born TN Who are her parents? Where did she die and where is she buried? The last time I found her in census records she was living in the Watauga/Rqnge/Trukeytown area of Carter County. She had a brother, James Swinney born 1815. He lived in the same area that Margaret lived. She alwasy listed her name as Margaret Potter and said in a pension application that she had been married to him and he deserted her and her son.
