Hello, I am also studying the Davis lines. Asa Davis's sister Nancy who married Thomas Baker is my ancestor. I have their parents as Charles Davis and Martha and they are in Carter Co 1840 and 1850 census records. Does anyone know who Charles Davis's and Martha's parents are? I have hit a brick wall on this and am looking for a breakthrough. I would love to see the picture of Asa and Susannah. Can you email it to me? Any help would be appreciated. I can do census lookups for Unicoi County 1880 and 1900. There's lots of Davis records here including Asa and Susannah! I also have Unicoi Co marriage records 1876-1904 if this helps anyone. Asa Davis is my great-great-great grandfather and I actually have a picture of him and Susannah Whitehead. I am descended from his son John. I accidentally came across more family when I moved to Maryville, TN, just by chance, and there are Davis' who came here from Carter and Unicoi County who are descended from Doc.
