She was Laurana PARDUE, born 11 Feb 1829, died 6 May 1905. Her son, William Riley Sheffield, was born in Carter Co., TN 6 Dec 1851 and apparently had a younger sister, Martha. I believe that Laurana (Lurena, Laraney . . .) was born in TN or NC and was widowed between 1855 and 1860, but I don't know that. i am writing in hope that one of you will have any little bit of information on Laurana or my family there. I know there were Sheffields in Carter and Johnson Counties; just don't know if or which ones are connected. Don't know anything yet about Pardues, since I first got that name yesterday at the cemetery! Thank you for your time and any help you can provide.
