Several e-mails of interest have been received about interest in the Watauga Petition of 1776 that in reality established the first free government in America. There were 113 signers of this petition. A signer of this petition established him- self as a Patriot with SAR and DAR. Of course many of the signers were membes of the Over Mountain Men that went to King's Mountain defeated Col. Ferguson and changed the course of American history. Can you estimate the number of des- cendants of these 113 Patriots. It would seem to me that it should make each proud of their ancestor's service and make you want to establish your descent from same.
