Does it mention when he got married to Sarah Hicks, dau of Samuel "Big Sammy" Hicks of Watauga Co., NC? Barnabas came to Carter Co. around 1810. I wonder if he married then? Joshua's wife's name is also unknown, although, some have said it may have been VANDERPOOL. From what I've been told, Joshua came from Ireland. He was found in Ashe Co., NC. I was also told family came from Wilkes or Burke Co NC. Another son of Joshua was David, who married Socro DAVIS. Is the book you are quoting from Carter Co and Its People?
