Thanksgiving day was one of sadness to the family of Mrs. Callie Smith, 62, of Valley Forge. Death came into the home suddenly and unexpectedly leaving the day void of the spirit for which the day is celebrated. Milk Pail Full Mrs. Callie Smith was found dead in the cow stable of her barn at 8:00 yesterday morning when she had gone to milk about an hour earlier. An inquest held by Coroner Porter Nave prononced death caused by heart failure. Mrs. Smith had gone to milk about 7:00, and when she did not return in a reasonable time, her daughter, Mrs. Rhoda Largent, who was visiting her mother at the time, went to the barn to find the cause for the delay. She located her mother dead in the stable. Collins, acting for the jury made a thorough examination death caused by heart trouble. Mrs. Smith was said to have been in ill health for some time and had been complaining of her heart for several days. She buried a son on November 12, who died at the National Soldier's Home in Johnson City, and that is said to have caused her great grief, and weakened her physical condition. Funeral Tomorrow Mrs. Smith lived near Valley Forge at the mouth of Long Hollow. She had resided at this place for 20 years and was highly respected as a good neighbor. Funeral {unreadable} will be held some tomorrow at Smith Cemetery in Valley Forge. Complete funeral arrangements have not been announced.
