Surnames: Bass, Smith, Manning, Morgan Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EeB.2ACE/420 Message Board Post: I have attached the obit for Edgar B. Bass who was born in Shell Creek TN (Carter County) 10 Oct 1883 and died 29 June 1813 after being struck by a train. Obit lists wife, father, and siblings of Edgar. Edgar's mother was Dorothy Morgan of Chatham County, N.C. Daughter of Charles Morgan. (1850-1860 Chatham County Census records) Edgar's death cert. took yrs to find. He moved shortly after the 1910 census and was killed in 1913. The death cert. has his name as Edward D. Bass (Incorrect) and age as 35 (also incorrect),and unknown father and mother info. It is probable that someone Edgar worked with gave the death cert information. I used the information concerning place of death buriel etc.to request a copy of an obit. It wasn't but a very short time when a nice lady in PA I'm assuming sent me the attached obit. I can't thank her enough! God Bless that woman!

Bowers October 13, 1876, in Carter Co., TN died between 1900-1910. She was on the 1900 Census with Alfred B. Bowers, named "Becka", but does not show on 1910 Census, it showed he was a widower. I have searched the Carter Co. 1860 census and found an A. T. Carriger w/dau. Eliza 1/12 month old. Was wondering if possible that this Eliza could also have been Rebecca due to when she was born and the census taken. They are my 3rd great grand parents. Any help would be appreciated.
