Sometimes I post and than forget where I posted. I have been researching the Broyles/Smith families for quite sometime. I have not had very much luck in finding information on John C Smith and Jincy Taylor. I do have some information on Nathaniel Smith's family. I am orginally from Greene Co., Tn and I have family up in that area. My greatmother was Eliza Smith who was the daughter of Nathaniel. What kind of information do you have? Maybe we can correspond and compare notes. I hope you are still out there. Mary Broyles Shepard Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I expect I will have to do research closer to Pulaski County VA, and not necessarily on the internet, to find out what may have happened to Rhoda. Don't know of any death indexes for Pulaski County online, and the cemetery information online doesn't show a Rhoda Miller in Pulaski to the best of my knowledge. A letter from a distant relative of both Rhoda and John, to his (the distant relative's) family in the North, which is now in a document collection in a history museum in Knoxville, refers to their marriage in 1849 and their move from Blount County TN to live "on the New River" in Virginia. I have assumed that this information, and the 1850 census, placed them in Pulaski County, VA, by 1850. Rhoda's 1850 age of 26 would be consistent with information from the 1830 census household of James Kirby in Blount County, TN (who died in 1835). My 2nd great grandfather, Wright Moreland was Administrator of the will of Daniel Stout in Carter County, Tennessee in the early 1850's. I am trying to find a copy of the administration papers of the will as I think Wright Moreland's wife, Margaret, may be related to Daniel. When I visited the Carter Courthouse a few years ago, I found a large folder for Daniel's estate. Unfortunately, the folder was completely empty and I could no locate any contents. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to locate the contents of Daniel Stout's estate papers? Note: There were two Wright Morelands in Carter County at the time. My ancestor was Wright, the son of Charles Moreland and the other Wright was the son of William Moreland. Granville Stout, the son of Daniel, married my Wright Moreland's oldest daughter, Mary Adoline Moreland. My Wright Moreland and a group left Carter County about 1853 and moved West. Any help would be appreciated. Eldon J. Edgin 14908 Woodbriar Drive Dallas, Texas 75248 Phone: (972) 991-4891 eedgin@sbcglobal.net or eldon@edgin.org

Sion and John R. had a sister named Matilda Caroline who married A man named Mr. Buckles. It is believed they also had an older brother named David. I did a lot of traveling trying to find the story behind my GGG Sion. All the information regarding all of them was found in Carter county. I was the one who found the divorce announcement of Sion's that stated Sion Taylor of Richard Taylor which meant that his father was Richard. Please feel free to email me. I think its time all of us get together and share information and meet each other. Who knows we might happen to look a like!! lol Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
