He was in Carroll Co, TN in 1830 and 1840, in Tishomingo Co, MS in 1850 and 1860, and in Sharp Co, AR in 1870. He married (1st) Mary (Polly) Carroll and (2nd) Mary E.(Binkley) Ballard. Children were: Delilah, John, Gilford, Layton H, Green, Elbert, Caroline, Harrison, Thomas Jefferson, Phinius, Frances, Stephen Taylor, and Ulysses Grant. I suspect that he came from some of the Rowan Co, NC Pinkstons but I have made no connection. C. F. Moore
