Since I posted this message on the Carroll County forum I think I've found some of the answers that I was looking for. I'm sure that Velma married Boose King. I've also learned that Velma's maiden name was Smith. The Smith family is listed on the 1920 Carroll Co. census for dist. 15. I have always thought that Velma and Elva were related somehow. I'm still not sure how or if Velma was related to my grandmother Willie Mai Wood Butler. I've recently found that my grandmother's grandmother was a King. That may be the connection but I'm not sure.
