Also mentioned is Amelia, 31, who was born in North Carolina, as was Joseph. Others are Catharine, 9, Elizabeth 7, Mary A., 4, and Eliza J, 2. Joseph and Amelia are also in the 1860 census with more children: Louisa, 6, Allice, 3, and Florence E. 11/12. The family is also in the 1870 census. I cannot find any connection to this Holmes family, but I thought you might like to know about the censuses. My Holmes' came to Carroll County from South Carolina in 1822.
