I do not know a correction between this family and our family. But I believe there has to be one. Our ggrandfather, William Washington Herron, left NC as a very young man and went to Texas. He came back to McKenzie on a visit, met Mary Harriett (Molly) Gilbert, and married her and stayed in the McKenzie area. They were married in 1881. He is in the 1880 census of Weakley County as a single man. I have to believe that he must have had family in the McKenzie area, to lead him to come back from Texas on a visit. There is a Lucile Herron McAlister buried beside him and his wife (Molly Gilbert), in the Mt Olivet cemetery in McKenzie. I believe Lucile was his sister, although I have no proof of this. At some point in time, WW and Molly lived in Henry county in the Herrondale community, South of the highway from Como to Paris, and North of McKenzie. But most of their married life was lived in McKenzie. We would certainly appreciate any information on the Herron's of the Carrol/Henry/Weakley county area. I have notes on the following, but don't know the connection: PILGRIM'S REST CEMETERY (Carroll County) Herron, Ruby M., Nov 28, 1887-Aug 21, 1914 Herron, Dula. E., Jan 4, 1883-Mar 7, 1918 Herron, Mattie J., 1863-1933 Herron, Henry, 1869-1950 Is this your Mattie? There are also some Herron's buried in Mt. Olivet cemetery, but can not find my notes right now.
