However I do know there was a GREEN family living in Mecklenburg Co. NC 1775-1794. John Green died Octboer 1794 and was buried in the Steele Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery. I have a copy of his will, and his estate was divided into 7 equal shares - his wife received a child's portion (does this mean she was 2nd wife?) Wife: Margaret Green and children (6) Isaac Green, John Green, Mary Green, Moses Green, Tabitha Green, David Haynes Green. Moses Green married (1) Catherine Kerr who died 1819 and is buried Steele Creek Cemetery. Apparently he married (2) Mary Rogers a daughter of Joseph Rogers who died 1806 and is buried Steele Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Children of Joseph & Margaret Rogers (per will): Asenath, Martha Orr, Mary Russell Rogers, Narissa, Abigail, Margaret Story, Betsey Isabella Rogers, Joseph and John. I'm not sure if "Orr" & "Story" are married names or middle names. So far I have not found a connection between the Green & Rogers families of Mecklenburg Co. & Montgomery Co. NC.
