Tn Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tn/Carroll/11714 Surname: Green, Rogers, Kerr, Todd, Looney ------------------------- I think there were two GREEN families in Carroll County, TN and perhaps they were not related. I found the Memiors of the Todd Families on the Weakley County website that has Moses Green married Mary Rogers and coming to Carroll County, TN in 1824. With them came Hugh Todd and his wife Narcissus Rogers. It seems Hugh Todd and Moses Green became partners in their land purchase and apparently their wives were sisters and daughters of Joseph Rogers. These family came from Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, and lived in the area of the Steel Creek Presbyterian Church about 5 miles south of present day Charlotte. Moses Green and his wife did not have children (that was his #2 wife) and I believe she is buried in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery and died in 1847 (he is also buried there). His first wife, and the mother of his children, was Catherine Kerr, whom he married 6 Oct 1807 in Mecklenburg County, NC. One son of Moses Green was named John O. Green and he married Rebecca Looney. Their three sons served in the Civil War. Will of Joseph Rogers (Bk.F-72) Jun 1806/Jul 1806; Mecklenburg County, NC. Wife Margaret Rogers. Daus: Asenath, Martha Orr, Mary Russell Rogers, Narissa, Abigail, Margret Story and Betsy Isabella Rogers. Sons: Joseph and John (under-age) Is there anyone else interested in this GREEN family?
