I am not sure how to respond to this: There are two "Roach" cemeteries in Tennessee, one in Obion Co. and one in Davidson Co. Go to: http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form Enter "roach" in Feature Name, "Tennessee" in State and "cemetery" in Feature Type for more information. hope this helps glen [email protected] wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Wilson, Roach, Honea, Thomas > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/QhB.2ACI/1515 > > Message Board Post: > > I have been searching for the burial place of my GreatGrandparents, Franklin M. and E.R.L. My grandmother was Olivet Essie Hendricks b. 1893 in Hollow Rock. Her father was Vaughn Hendricks and her mother ???? Stoker. We have not been able to find out her name, as my aunt only remembers Grandma Stoker growing up so that was the mothers maiden name. We know she either died or left the family as in 1900 census it lists only Vaughn, Olivet, and his mother in the household. Hoping you know if there is a connection here. Please let me know. I have John Rumbley as a brother to Thompson. Thompson was the 1st child, John Rumbley 2nd and then followed 8 more. Their father Enoch Enochs b 12/10/1767 - d 1840 married Alida (Lydia) Rumbley 9/30/1789 in Rowan Co, NC. She supposedly died 1845 in New Albany, Union Co, Ms. Another source states he and his wife moved to Rankin Co, Ms by 1840 and their death and burial was in Pontotoc Co, Ms in 1845. It is possible Union Co was part of Pontotoc at that time. There is a deed in Bedford Co, Tn from Andrew Jackson to Enoch for land on Mulberry Crk and Enoch served as Aide de Camp to Jackson in the Battle of New Orleans. One Jackson biography states Enoch was a 2nd cousin to Andrew. Most of this info came from the Chickasaw Co Heritage book.

He didn't name any of his children after Bill Putman's research on his parents. Do you have any information on Sarah, d/o Solomon who, according to Bill Putman, married Thomas Howard. He is probably related to the Howards of Union County, South Carolina. Please note my new e-mail address: Mary Bonsal <[email protected]>

Surnames: Allen/Orwenshire Classification: Queries Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/QhB.2ACI/1513 Message Board Post: I have recently been trying to prove that my great grandfather William A. Allen(sometimes listed as W.A. Allen) was a son of Samuel Allen. I think Samuel Allen was born about 1824 because on the 1880 Census in Carroll County he is listed as being 56. The reason I think my William A. Allen born August 1852 in Tennessee is his son, is because on the 1870 Census he is listed as Albert. I believe my William A. Allen was William Albert Allen. This Albert was 19 but probably was 17. The strong possiblity exist becasue I finally found the marriage record for W.A. Allen and L.Caroline Bowman in Madison County, Tennessee on September 5, 1878. I always was looking for the marriage record in Hardeman County which is were Laura Caroline Bowman was in 1870. Now that I know how close Madison and Carroll Counties are I am even more convinced. If anyone has this family of Samuel R. Allen and Margaret Orwenshire Allen please email. I did get some wonderful information on the Orwenshire s! ide, but need the information on the Allen's please feel free to email me at [email protected] if anyone has more information on this Allen family.
