    1. [TNCARROL] Mary Ann Stoker
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Rogers, Greens, Fields Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/QhB.2ACI/1563 Message Board Post: There are a lot of genealogies listing both a Mary Tucker as well as a Mary Ann Stoker as the wife of our William A. Rogers b. Jan. 17, 1820 NC ( supposedly in Montgomery Co. NC ). All the transcribed marriage records in Carroll Co. TN list Mary Tucker as the spouse of William A. Rogers and both Mary Tucker as well as Mary Ann Stoker are listed on family genealogies as marrying William A. Rogers on July 08, 1841 in Carroll Co. TN. I have been told that the original marriage records of Carroll Co. TN may have burned in a fire at the Court House in about the 1930 period. If anyone has knowledge of where the original marriage records would be, please post it here, as some have tried to locate the original marriage records and were told at the registrar's office they really didn't know where they were and perhaps the records might have burned in the Court House fire of 1939 or so. All I have on either wife listed for William A. Rogers is that Mary Ann Stoker was the daughter of Robert Stoker and Mary McGregor. I have no information on a Mary Tucker. So if either the Tucker or Stoker families have knowledge of the proof of either as being the wife of William A. Rogers, I would greatly appreciate seeing proof besides that listed in the transcribed Carroll Co. TN Marriage books. Thanks for any help. William A. Rogers was the son of Basil Rogers b. 1794 NC and wife Rebecca Unknown. Basil Rogers was the son of William Rogers b. 1770 NC and wife Nancy ( Cheatum is found in an old diary for maiden name of Nancy, and most genealogies list her as "Cheatham" ). 1. [TNCARROL] ALEXANDER KING IN 1860 CARROL CO. CENSUS
    2. Steve and Judy Sanders
    3. On Ancestry.com, I found an Alexander King listed as being in Carrol Co., TN. in 1860 in District 14-microfilm page 131. I am interested in knowing who this Alexander King is. I have a missing Alexander King born circa 1826 in North Carolina and was in the 1850 Lauderdale Co., AL. census married to Lydia McDonald. I have not found this Alexander after 1850. I have no idea if he migrated to Carrol Co. or not. This is what I am trying to find out. Actually he could have migrated anywhere, but I have to start somewhere. Does anyone know about this Alexander King in Carrol Co. in 1860 or just happen to have Kings that might have lived in Lauderdale Co., AL. Judy Sanders

    1. Re: [TNCARROL] Virus
    2. This is NOT a virus, but it is a hoax. The SULFNBK.exe is part of your Windows program for naming files. Go to www.google.com and enter "virus hoax" including the quotation marks. One of the first listings you will find is for Symantec, which is Norton Anti-virus list. Click on this, and then on the page that comes next, scroll down the blue list until you see SULFNBK.exe. Click on this, and it will explain everything. Again, this is not a virus, but you can make you computer less useful if you delete this .exe file. Always check for hoaxes before passing on information. Researching Laski/Lasky, Franklin/Frankland, Rosenblum/Rosenbloom, Ostrow/Ostrov, Kyle, Taylor, Hodge in Shelby County. Lynn

    3. Dear Friends, I inherited this from a friend. I found it on my hard drive. Please check yours. I received this virus through someone else's address book URGENT!!!! I received this file which is reportedly a virus, and chances are you have it too, since you're in my address book. It lies dormant for 14 days, then it kills your hard drive. Here's how to stop it. If you've got it, send this to everyone in your address book. The directions for removing it are easy: 1. Go to 'start' - then to 'find or search' (depending on your computer) 2. In the 'search for files or folders' type in sulfnbk.exe -- this is the virus. 3. In the 'look in' make sure you're searching Drive C. 4. Hit 'search' button (or find) 5. If this file shows up (it's an ugly blackish icon that will have the name 'sulfnbk.exe') DO NOT OPEN IT 6. Right click on the file (ONLY CLICK ONCE!)- go down to delete and left click. 7. It will ask you if you want to send it to the recycle bin, say yes. 8. Go to your desktop (where all your icons are) and double click on the recycle bin. 9. Right click on sulfnbk.exe and delete again - or empty the bin. If you find it send this email to all in your address book, because that's how it's transferred. I'm very sorry. Ruth I received this from Ruth and I had the file. Please check your c drive. Pat ==== MODLIN Mailing List ==== Support free volunteer genealogy. Contribute your data and your time. 3. Please do not do this. this is a virus hoax go to www. Symantec.com and check it out type the name of the file in the search box and it will tell you about the hoax and what to do if you have acted on this hoax already to fix your computer. the file listed is a windows file that allows your computer to have long file names. PLEASE CHECK OUT THESE VIRUS WARNINGS BEFORE PASSING THEM ON. SO WE CAN STOP THIS GARBAGE FROM CIRCULATING THE NET. ----- Original Message ----- From: "augiedog7" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, December 29, 2001 8:49 AM Subject: [TNCARROL] Virus > Dear Friends, > > I inherited this from a friend. His first wife, Martha J. Gwinn, was a sister to my great-grandmother, Louiza Ellen Gwin Johnson. My grandmother was Jennie Bell Johnson McDonald. You obviously have more info than I since I was unsure of Martha's death date. I do have a tribute to E. T. Burns published by request of the Concord Baptist Church (probably when he died in 1900), however, it only reports he left a wife and seven living children. I'm glad to see you're still researching the Carroll County area. I know you helped my mother in her research in the Christmasville area. That info has been passed along to me and I've been hooked for years. I would like to exchange information if I have any that would help you. Jenny Penick Garner
