Murray Charles actually met his mother. She got married and visited him to tell him that they were leaving the area. This was the last time he saw her. The Lady who adopted and raised him also had a sister who never married that help to raise him. His daughter told me that his father was the brother to the ladies that raised him. The ladies owned a Fruit Orchard. I was told that his mother also lived in Huntingdon until she left with her husband. Any Information would be greatly appreciated.

I am Bob Mitchell. I have been researching the Brown's and Crider's for a few months now. I am a descendant of Eli (Elisa?) Daniel Brown and Beatrice Crider. Their daughter Martha Ellie Susan Brown married Samuel Joseph Mitchell. Samuel Joseph and Ellie had one son, Daniel Mitchell who was the father of Robert Samuel Mitchell, my father. Do you have information on Eli Brown's ancestry? I have info on the Crider line back to Germany in the 1700's. Check out the Carroll County Website Carroll Co. TN Genealogy . I have a picture posted on that site that includes Eli and Beatrice, Jackie Ann McClain and others. Click on "View Carroll Pictures." Bob Mitchell [email protected]

The will of Moses Green is not transcribed clearly but was Margaret E. (the wife of Mathew M) the daughter of Moses Green? Yes, I have some info on the Green's in Mecklenburg Co.NC. The will file for John Green has many pages of payments, notes, etc. I have worked on him for years with the theory that John Green's wife was Margaret Haynes. I do know she was married (1) to James Carruth and married John Green about 1777. Their last child was named David Haynes Green born around 1790. It's possible John Green had been married before, but apparently Margaret was still living in 1815. This is so exciting finally meeting someone who has a connection to this family. GREEN is a difficult name to research. Hope to hear more.

I'm the son of the William Green that has replied to you recently. Anyway, The Mathew M. Green in your post, isn't Moses Green's son. He's his nephew. Mathew is the second son of John Parham Green. I have an old family transcript, that states that Mathew married his cousin Margaret E. Green. They moved to Arkansas after having a Fight with Moses over his will. The Mary Rogers you have, is the second wife. They had no children. Moses' first wife was Catherine Kerr. She died in 1819.and is buried at the Steel Creek cemetery in NC. My father and I have been transcribing the manuscript that we have, it's a hand written ledger, and I have been posting what info I have on our website at; http://hometown.aol.com/kendotco/GreenGeneology.html I saw on an earlier post. that you have a copy of a will for John Green, father of Moses. If I may, I would truly like to have a copy. That John Green is my x5 great grandfather. Unfortunately, he is were I'm stuck. I can't find his wife's maiden name, or any references to his parents. any info would be greatly apreciated.

With all the recent talk about the many Greens of Carroll County, I would like to know if anybody is researching the lines of DAVID GREEN (d. 1857), and his wife LYDIA COOPER. The will of David mentions a daughter Synthia Martin, widow of Jacob Martin. Jacob and Synthia were my GGrandparents. David was probably from Montgomery County, NC. His brothers might have been Richard, Aaron, Culpepper, and William. Knox Martin The South is a land that has known sorrows; it is a land that has broken the ashen crust and moistened it with tears; a land scarred and riven by the plowshare of war and billowed with the graves of her dead; but a land of legend, a land of song, a land of hallowed and heroic memories. To that land every drop of my blood, every fiber of my being, every pulsation of my heart, is consecrated forever. I was born of her womb; I was nurtured at her breast; and when my last hour shall come, I pray God that I may be pillowed upon her bosom and rocked to sleep within her tender encircling arms. The "Old Brick House" was built in the early 1600's by Dr. Richard Kennon and wife who had arrived from England via Bermuda I believe--I have that info too somewhere. I have been to the Kennon home and as a Kennon want to have our home preserved for our future generations The emails below are from the Neighborhood association where the house stands. Ask me Ann Kennon Breslauer any Q's or write to Laura Steele. I can send you a photo of the house if desired. Please get this info to as many kennons as you can. This house belongs to all of us. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for your support. We are in the process of setting up the Old Brick House Foundation. We do have our 501(c)3 status as a non-profit corporation. Any one wishing to make a tax deductible donation can send it to our treasurer who is a CPA. Heer info is: Martha Floyd 406 Waterfront Dr Colonial Heights, VA 23834 Thank you for your interest and I will keep in touch. We are scheduled for the city council meeting in Dec to ask for support. We are trying to do local fund raising to cover set up and transfer/closing costs. Thank you again for your support. I am so sorry I missed you this summer. Sincerely, Laura ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your families. I hope that you all had a joyous holiday. The Old Brick House Foundation hit the ground running yesterday preparing for the events of the next sixty days. Getting the property transferred has become more complicated than we had anticipated due to subdivision requirements. We must now cover the costs for a Subdivision plat, Construction plat detailing water and sewer hook-ups and costs for installing water and sewer within the boundaries of the new lot(digging up the streeet, etc). It will cost approximately $5,000- $6,000. We have begun the process of soliciting funds by applying to several foundations and planning fund raisers. These things take time. Would you assist our cause by contacting the Kennon descendants to cover the cost for getting the house transferred to the foundation? We need to raise $5,000 in 30 days. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Old Brick House Foundation in on the big project of raising $300,000 in the next five years. When I sent you all the plea for more funds it was to ask for your support is seeking any Kennon relatives to donate to our cause. I am not aware of who/how many originally sent funds. We are seeking a process to reach as many people as possible. There used to be a newsletter that was going out to Kennon descendants and was wondering if there was a way to get in touch with a large number of Kennons. We are looking for as many supporters as we can find. I am going to get together an outline of our progress this year. Our need now is to get the costs to have the property transferred to the Foundation and get started applying to foundations. Thank you for your interest in the project.
