This is to the many readers and posters of this site. For some time now, there has been discussion pertaining to a desire to have a "Meeting" of those interested in family history in Cannon County. Many have suggested this meeting coincide with the Memorial Day weekend when family and friends return to Cannon County for Memorial services. The following announcement posted by Peggy Tate earlier is an attempt at creating just such a meeting. This is your chance to return to your former home or that of your ancestors and meet with others who share your passion for family history. The Adams Memorial Library is hosting this affair and would be honored with your presence there on Saturday, May 26 or on Monday, May 28. Now is the time to make this event happen if it is to ever happen at all. Peggy Tate is to be commended for her volunteering to put such a meeting together. Stephanie Fuston, librarian, deserves our appreciation as well for allowing such an event to be hosted there and for promoting and encouraging the use of the library facility for family research. Linda King, Mary Hughes, and Kay Hale are also to be commended for the time they have volunteered to assist with this effort. This is a valuable opportunity for those visiting Cannon County to become acquainted with what the Adams Memorial Library has to offer and to meet other family researchers to discuss their county connections. I look forward to visiting with you in Woodbury on Memorial Day Weekend. See yall there! I did like the library when I was there but it was not convenient for me. I was asked to leave all my research material out of the research room, I couldn't take anything in there with me. So it was a back & forth problem on my research. Will it be that way again.????? I got what I wanted but it just took me longer. Researching Campbell's, Grizzel's and etc. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Danny Nichols" <mssc@heartoftn.net> To: <tncannon@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 16, 2007 8:47 AM Subject: [TNCANNON] Cannon County "Care & Share Days" > This is to the many readers and posters of this site. I've downloaded a map of Woodbury.... College St. runs N/S crossing Main on the west side of town. Now, is the library N or S of Main? Thanks, Joe
