David Faulkenberry: South Carolina Roster of the Revolutionary War While residing in Kershaw District, he was drafted into service under Capt. John Canerton? and Col. Joseph Crenshaw and was in the Battle of Hanging Rock. After six months he was discharged. Shortly thereafter, he was again drafted and served five to six months under the same Captain. At some time he served in Sumter's brigade and was at Gates Defeat as a baggage guard sergeant. He was crippled in both hands by Tories who raided his home and cut him with a sabre. He was also shot in the arm at the same time. Moved to Georgia then to Tennessee. Kevin
