Does anyone know anything about William Barton from Cannon County? In 1892 he gave his deposition in court in the case of Thomas Ready vs. Patsy Ready, et al. He said in the deposition that he had a brother who had been gone a long time with a drove of horses. He said Tom (Thomas) Caruthers had gone with his brother, and they were never heard of, and never returned. Tom Caruthers was hired by William Barton's brother to go with him. Does anyone know the name of William Barton's brother who went with Tom Caruthers with a "drove" of horses and never returned? Thanks. Betty McCollum Betty G.
