    3. Oh, dear! Y'all talk about snakes outside and I'm almost scared to go out in the yard, or for the kids to go out. 8>)) (It's not just the conversation, but me. And I know we really do need to realize and prepare for those things before we go hunting in cemeteries, or anywhere outside.) And my yard really needs work after a little rain last week! My sister assures me that the snakes will run from the noise of the weedeater, but I'm not so sure of that! I don't have any protective gear, like leather boots, to wear outside, but my sister told me that it's okay if you just don't reach into things where snakes might hide. She claims that they are just as scared of us as we are of them. But, in movies, they strike when you come into their territory. I don't know about in real life. To top it off, they caught a a 5 foot long alligator in a ditch two streets over from us a couple of weeks ago, and said that they have caught 4 more almost that big in this area. I didn't know we had alligators anywhere around here, but, apparently they have always been here around creeks and ponds. And a man in a neighboring town, in fact a policeman, I believe, died from a fatal snake bite he got last Friday. I don't know what he was doing or what kind of snake, but that really makes me even more afraid. I thought that, these days, you could get treatment and would most likely be alright. We have the copperheads, too, here in Texas, and water moccasins, rattlesnakes, along with the other king snakes, grass snakes, rat snakes, etc. Further toward the coast, there are coral snakes, too. I don't know why I'm so scared of those. I guess it's being a sissy. I haven't ever seen one outside, when looking in well cared for cemeteries. I haven't ventured in the other ones, except when I was a kid, with a bunch of other kids. Then, we didn't think of critters, but were on the lookout for ghosts. I've seen those young ghost hunters, and others, prowl through cemeteries, and they don't seem to be at all concerned about critters! Good luck and take care as you hunt in the cemeteries.
