Hi Kevin, you've been busy today. I am very interested in any info on the Moore family anywhere close to Bradyville. What are the dates for Frances? Could she have been a sister or cousin to C. T. Moore, born Sept. 14, 1834 according to his tombstone.? Who were her parents and siblings? My brick wall is C. T. Moore m. Sarah Jane Knox in 1856. We have the Knox line and CT's descendants, but cannot find CT's parents. He may have been Calvin Thomas, or Charles Thomas, or ???? He did not own property that I can find, so have no location or parents for him. Family lore says he fought in Civil War in Cavalry, signing up at Bradyville,TN. Back of his saddle was shot off at one time, later his horse was killed and he was captured & almost died of smallpox and starvation. Pat Wilson, a small Irishman, stole food for him, and was often punished. He was fond of horses, always kept a fast double (Surrey) team. Bred horses & mules, also sheep. 1880 Census, Dist 4, in Cannon County TN - C T Moore age 46 born in Virginia, (family had him as born in Bradyville) Wife Sarah age 41, John age 17, Martha P. age 20, Ada age 15, Lee age 13, Sallie age 11, Hattie age 9, Lillie age 7, Alvin age 5 and Joseph age 10. Sarah and all children born in Tenn.(family says Bradyville, TN) I am eager to explore any possible connection to any other Moore's in the area. His daughter, Ada married John McGinn Patton in Bradyville in 1884. John Patton died in 1892 of a leg injury suffered during the building of a road. He left Ada, a widow at age 24, with two children ages 2 and 4. She moved on to Salado, Bell County, Texas with her parents. If you are willing to help me with info on your Frances Moore's family, I'd be appreciative.
