Kevin - If you go to Crown Hill cemetery, you will find a section of Confederate monuments that was dedicated about 1993. *Somewhere* I have pictures and a newspaper article from the Indianapolis Star telling all about the relocation. There are many names on the monuments, and each state is represented. I went to the ceremony, in which the President General of the United Daughters of the Confederacy spoke, as did several dignitaries from Indiana. A vial of soil from each state was buried at the base of the monuments. When the Star Spangled Banner was played by a military band, everyone stood. Riderless horse and caisson went by, and the band played *Dixieland*. I was the only one who stood up (not that I'm proud of my southern heritage or anything). Soon, people began to stand as the song was played and a group of re-enactors marched by. I was very proud of our southern heritage that day.
