Does anyone in Cannon County know of a connection between the Caruthers family and the Finley family who were in Cannon Co. in the early to mid 1800's? Thanks. Betty Guthrie McCollum -----
Sasha, The 1880 Cannon Co. census shows..... Bethel Kelly age 32 "Lousy" J. Kelly (age 20), wife "Mothy"= G. (age 9 mo.) female He is buried in the Sycamore Cemetery (1848-1902) When we did our Cannon Co. Cemetery Book, we didn't find any spouse buried there, however, the Cannon marriage records show a marriage of B.A. Kelley to S.J. Ward, on 7/28/1878 (Don't you just love people who use initials instead of names, in public documents? Quite common, at least in the 1880s, in Cannon Co.) Jess Lewis
I don't think this list is an appropriate place to be discussing medicines, etc. Lets stick to genealogy, etc. Jess Lewis .... List adm.
Hi Everyone! Wow! Heather wasn't kidding; this list is full of kind folks! I'll do my best to answer everyone's reply to my post. Kristi, thank you for the cemetery infromation on Bethel A. Kelley. The only thing I noticed that I think is wrong is his spouse's name. He married Lucy Ward. I'm not sure who S.J. Ward was...maybe he was married to her prior to Lucy? Jess, Morning (Keaton) Kelley was indeed Lucinda's mother-in-law. Speaking of Morning, while reading the R.A. Dennis manuscript, it's mentioned that Morning Keaton married William Kelley and it also mentions that she married Jake Kelley. I'm assuming that since it's mentioned more than once that she is Jake's wife, that she was. I also noticed in the marriage records in Wilson County that William and Morning married. This has me confused! The information that you provided on the cort case is very interesting! I had/have yet to come across anything like that in all my research. I wonder if he was indeed a casualty of the Civil war in some way. Thank you! Doris, as my research has only just begun, I haven't run across an Elizabeth Keaton YET. I'll be sure to let you know if I do though! Helen, I will send an email your way about the Kings and Kell(e)ys of Cannon Co. It would be neat if we are somehow related! Cheryl, thank you for the list! The only name listed that I'm curious about is Jake Kelly as his is the only name I recognize at the moment. A little information on him would be very much appreciated! If it's not too much to ask, could you take a peek in the Marriage books when you have a moment? I'll also be looking into Warren county as Bethel and Lucinda Kelley lived in McMinnville at some point. Thank you so much for your help everyone! It's people like you that make genealogy fun for beginners like me! Thanks! Sasha Watt [email protected] --------------------------------- Yahoo! Kevin, Perhaps you should seek Alternate Healthcare Doctors as they can proboaly help you . After numerous steroid injections, lasers and surgeries, the Doctors have stated they have done all they can do and I still have swelling in the back of the Retina and I would have to live with that. I am enclosing a Letter from the FDA just recently. If you take this Drug and are having problems with your eyes or heart, please contact your Doctors immediately ! I have poor vision, colors look similar and I cannot see in the dark. Kevin Morgan FDA Warns of Potential Worsening of Macula Edema in Diabetics Taking Avandia and Avandamet Date Published: January 7, 2006 Source: Newsinferno News Staff The FDA and pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) are warning medical professionals about reports of new or worsening diabetic eye complications in diabetics taking Avandamet or Avandia. The eye complication, known as macula edema, is a result of fragile and leaking blood vessels in the eye. The condition affects the part of the eye where sharp, straight-ahead vision occurs, and therefore and can lead to blurry vision. Patients should immediately alert their doctor if they notice any change in their vision such as blurriness, decreased color sensitivity, or the ability to see in the dark. Avandia and Avandamet are made by GSK to treat Type 2 diabetes. Both drugs contain the drug rosiglitazone. Avandamet also contains a second drug called metformin. A GlaxoSmithKline letter sent to doctors makes these points: * The reports are "very rare." * Most patients also reported swelling in their legs and feet (peripheral edema) at the same time. * In some cases the macula edema stopped or improved when patients stopped taking the drugs. * In one case, macula edema stopped when the drug's dose was reduced. Over 5 million people worldwide have taken Avandia and 769,000 have taken Avandamet. Diabetes can cause swelling, including swelling or edema in the back of the eyes. One complication of long-term diabetes is that the layer contains blood vessels that can become fragile or damaged. Macula edema also can be related to high blood pressure, abnormal cholesterol levels, or poor control of blood sugar. Regardless of any drug they take, individuals with diabetes should get eye exams at least once a year from an ophthalmologist. ==== TNCANNON Mailing List ==== A complete Archive of past issues of this list may be seen at.. http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/TNCANNON ============================== Search Family and Local Histories for stories about your family and the areas they lived. FWIW, I have a handful of Smthsons that are Sissom desc. at http://dfc.cc, beginning w/ Medford, b. 1900. We don't have any data since the mid-30s, and I'd very much like to update this line of cousins. Somewhere in my memory there are some in the vicinity of Avalon, Ellis Co., TX near where my Dad was raised which I have failed to record. Any help out there? Joe Sissom

In 1860, William B. & Lucinda have several extra "Kelly" people living with them. Maybe cousins, etc. William was age 40 and a somewhat successful farmer. He seems to disappear between 1860 & 1870. William B. Kell(e)ey, died sometime before August 19, 1868. A court case listed in Cannon Co. Chancery Court minute book 1865-1870, is between James King (administrator of William B. Kelly) and Bethel Kelly (and others), ends with the property (originally bought jointly by William King and William B. Kelly, in 1850) needing to be sold and divided, "owing to the number of heirs". Lucinda Kelly is the widow of William B. Kelly. Jess Lewis
