I am a descendant of John's brother James Miller (1813) who was sued for paternity in 1843 by Nancy McCully (McCallen)and was found guilty. After 9 years and 4 more children he married Nancy in 1843 in Campbell Co., TN. My g-g-grandfather was their son Thomas Miller b. 1845, the 2nd legitimate child of this union. James Miller (1813)abandoned Nancy and his family by 1850, moving to Missouri where it is presemued he died. Whether or not he divorced Nancy is still a mystery, but he did sell his land in TN to his brother George abt 1850. I have additional information if you would like it.
