My husband's great grandmother was Alice Elizabeth Bruce from South Carolina. She died in Paris, TN. Her father was Francis Marion Bruce and her mother was Jocie (last name unknown). I haven't run upon any Daniels in her family yet though. I can tell you that the majority of the Bruce family that my husband is descended from were in Anderson County, South Carolina and were Confederate soldiers, some even owning slaves. The Bruce family can be traced back to Augusta, Virginia and finally back to Kinnard, Scotland where they descend from the rebels that fought for Scotland's freedom from England. The Bruces from South Carlina migrated to Grayson County, Texas and back to Tennessee--or at least my husband's family did! Hopefully this will help.
