Hello Libby, In this packet of declarations and affidavits is one from James Smiddy. He gave his statement on October 8, 1888 at Coal Creek. In his statement he claims his age to be 60 yrs old. He states that his occupation is that of a farmer. His post office is listed as Caol Creek Campbell County..? I always thought that Coal Creek was in Anderson County. Someone set me straight please... James states that he served in the Union Army in Tennessee Co. F. 6th Infantry from March 1862 to March 1865.
