Debbie, off the top of my head without dates, I do know that at one time Coal Creek was part of Campbell,...the lines are so close...and kept switching...will need to look up the dates though... I've always wondered about Holly Gamble Funeral Home, Lake City, which seems to be in Campbell County and coming from Jacksboro on the old road, you have a sign welcoming you to Lake City before you see the marker for the county lines.... He gave his statement on October 8, 1888 at Coal Creek. In his statement he claims his age to be 60 yrs old. He states that his occupation is that of a farmer. His post office is listed as Caol Creek Campbell County..? I always thought that Coal Creek was in Anderson County. Someone set me straight please... James states that he served in the Union Army in Tennessee Co. F. 6th Infantry from March 1862 to March 1865. He mentions that he fought in the battle at Dallas and (sp) Resaca Georgia.
