Hi: I believe Eliakim would have died sometime before 1812 because Elizabeth, his widow, married John Tye III on 3/5/1812. I have a record of 4 children for Eliakim and Elizabeth and 4 children for John Tye and Elizabeth, but census records show her with 10 children so I must be missing a couple. I haven't looked at my Hamblen line for a while. I am descended from Elizabeth's brother, Benjamin and his wife Sarah Elizabeth. Thus my question, did Eliaken die in NC before they began the trip to KY, or did he died on the trail? Jesse Powers was in Whitley Co KY in the 1850 census, but know he lived in Jellico, Campbell Co., TN at some time. Would like to know something more about Jesse b 1795 and his wife Rebecca Bennett. My 97 year old Uncle John Powers has no answers for me, though he did do a DNA test for me. Even at his age his mind is clear as can be, and he truly enjoys what new bits of info I can tell him about our ancestors. Help, please!
