Hi Evelyn: The James Branam you are talking about was James M. Branam. He was the son of Jonathan and Sarah Lowe Branam. Sarah Lowe was the daughter of Fielding Lowe. Jonathan is buried at the old Lowe Cemetery on Stinking Creek and Sarah is buried over at the old Ayers Cemetery on Hickory Creek. You have his wife and all the dates as I do, except I have them married in July and you have Sept., but I do have a note saying Sept., with a question mark beside it, so you may be right. I don't remember where I got the Sept. date. James M. and wife Mary Ann Wilburn Branam's son, Jonathan "Babe" Branam was our gr.gr.grandfather. Their son, John Franklin "Johnny" Branam married Nancy Emma Ridenour. They had a daughter, Amanda Belle Branam, who married our grandfather, Sampson Dewey Smiddy. I'll "try" to figure out the Nancy Ayers. I am sure I have her in my Ayers line somewhere. You are right, that line will "drive you crazy." They named everybody the same name, and it is horribly confusing without going by dates and census records.
