From the Knoxville News Sentinel 8 Nov 2004 CHAPMAN, ROBERT E. - age 81, of LaFollette, MOORE, FLORENCE BURRESS - age 80, of Ft. City, SULLIVAN, ALLEN - of Knoxville, CHAPMAN, ROBERT E. - age 81, of LaFollette, passed away Sunday November 7, 2004 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Knoxville. He was a member of the Fincastle United Methodist Church for over 30 years. He was a long time local business man. Mr. Chapman was in the 1st Marine Division of the US Marine Core, WWII. He received several medals including the Purple Heart medal and Good Conduct medal. He participated in the invasion of Guadalcanal and Pal an. He was active in coaching little league baseball and basketball. Mr. Chapman was also an avid golfer and fisherman. He is preceded in death by: parents, Ed and Lizzie Paul Chapman; and 12 brothers and sisters. Mr. Chapman is survived by: wife, Mary Elizabeth Chapman of LaFollette; sons and daughter-in-law, Robert E. and Nancy Chapman, Jr. of LaFollette, Curtis Lee and Sanae Chapman of Madisonville, TN, and Charles Randal Chapman of Loudon; sister, Helen Johnson; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 8 pm Tuesday in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Ross and Rev. Kevin Cole officiating. Interment will be 11 am Wednesday in Fincastle Cemetery with full Military Services by the Campbell County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday prior to funeral services. Martin Wilson Funeral Home of LaFollette is in charge of these arrangements. MOORE, FLORENCE BURRESS - age 80, of Ft. City, died Saturday November 6, 2004 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Ft. City United Methodist Church and Retired Co-owner of Moore's Deli in Downtown Knoxville. Florence was a long time member and Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary, Knoxville VFW Post # 1733. She was preceded in death by: daughter, Helen Parrish and daughter-in law, Betty Jones. She is survived by: husband of almost 50 years, Ray L. Moore; son, Robert L. Jones, both of Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis Ray and Delores Jones of Clemson, SC; son-in-law, Kermit Parrish of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Terry McGhee Jr., Barry McGhee, Dennis Jones II, Darryl Jones, and Deanne Jones; several great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald (Buddy) and Alice Burress of Pensacola, FL, Ralph and Marsha Burress of Albany, Indiana; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geraldine Ward of Caryville, Virginia Martin of Jacksboro, Nancy Anita and Ronald McKamey of Caryville; sisters-in-law, Jeri Moore and Frances Moneymaker of Knoxville; brother-in-law, Glenn Moore; several nieces and nephews. The family and friends will meet Tuesday at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery for a 11:30 a.m. Graveside and Interment Service with Rev. Hubert Troutman officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel. SULLIVAN, ALLEN - of Knoxville, departed this life Saturday, November 6, 2004 at Holston Health Care Center. He was retired from Oak Ridge Plant in Oak Ridge, TN. He was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where he served in many capacities. He was an Army Veteran and member of several organizations including the Elks of Knoxville, No immediate family survivors. Foster family includes: mother, Clara Riggins and family; sister, Sarah Moore Greene and the Tabernacle Baptist Church family. Family will receive friends Tuesday, November 9, 2004 from 10:30 am to 11:00 am at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2137 MLK, JR. Ave, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 am. Interment at Tennessee Veterans State Cemetery on Lyons View Pike.
