He was born in Caryville, TN. on Oct 22, 1917 to Howard and Rhoda (Bullock) McGhee. He had retired from General Motors in 1981 after 27 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church and served as deacon, Sunday school superintendent and teacher. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bertha McGhee, 2 sons, Owen "Roger" McGhee, Seattle, WA, Kleetis (Teresa) McGhee, Eaton, Oh., 2 daughters, Pernie (Jack) Poynter, Eaton, OH.; Zina (Gary) Walker, Gratis, OH., 4 brothers, Arvel McGhee, Jacksboro, TN, George McGhee, and Marshall McGhee, both of Caryville, TN., Clyde McGhee, Knoxville, TN, 2 sisters, Lizzie McKamey, Caryville, TN., and Mary Byrge, Dayton, OH. 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis in 1969, 2 sisters, Myrtle Ward, Alice McGhee, and brother, Charlie McGhee. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Mon. Nov. 29, 2004 at Lindlof! f-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Gratis. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis. Friends may call at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, Gratis, OH. on Sun.
