From the Knoxville News Sentinel 23 Nov 2004 BUNCH, CLYDE HARRISON - age 87 of Morristown, DUNCAN, BILLIE DAMON "MYRTLE" - age 73 of the Claxton LAY, ARTIE (MINTON) - age 93 of LaFollette, PISTELLO, YVONNA GAIL CHAPMAN - age 51 of LaFollette, BUNCH, CLYDE HARRISON - age 87 of Morristown, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 22, 2004 at the home of his nephew Glen Bunch and his wife Judy in Morristown. He was Veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Air Force, Member and Deacon of New Hopewell Baptist Church. He retired from Tennessee Marble Company. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Mildred Ruth Bunch; parents, Andy & Maggie Bunch; brothers, Harvey Lee, Warren Otha, Vilmon Clarence, Paul Howard, and Harold Clifford Bunch; sisters, Iva Louise Breeden and Geneva Seiber. He is survived by his sister, Juanita Hickman and her husband, Jack; several nieces, nephews, and a host of precious friends. Memorial Donations may be made to the New Hopewell Baptist Church Food Bank @ 943 Kimberlin Heights Road Knoxville, TN. 37920. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm Tuesday November 23, 2004 at Highland South Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday November 24, 2004 at New Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Tilson officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. DUNCAN, BILLIE DAMON "MYRTLE" - age 73 of the Claxton Community, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2004 at his home. The son of William Oscar and Alice Daugherty Oakes Duncan, he was married to his beloved wife Nancy Lou Hoff Duncan for 29 years. Mr. Duncan attended Morgan County Schools and served his country in the USMC. He retired from Martin Marietta after 38 years of service as a machinist. He was member and past master of the Clinton Alpha Masonic Lodge #376 F&AM and also the Scottish Rite. He was an honorary member of numerous area lodges, which he attended as long as his health permitted. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: children, Linda Riggs & husband Keith of Harriman, Dianna Deaderick & husband Douglas of Lexington, SC, Randy LaMance & wife Traci of Mt. Juliet, Julie Clark & husband Danny of Cookeville; 9 grandchildren, Michelle, Dewayne, Amanda & Heather Ellison, Amy & Beth Deaderick, Taylor and Cameron LaMance, Denver Clark. He will also be missed by a special pet, PeeWee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: brothers, Edward, Clarence, and Elmer Oakes; sisters, Rose Oakes Roddy, Victoria Oakes Dunn, and Gladys Oakes Marinas. The funeral service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday in the Chapel with Lt. Col. Ret. Darrell L. Cook, Chaplain officiating. The burial will follow at Leach Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of the Clinton Masonic Lodge. LAY, ARTIE (MINTON) - age 93 of LaFollette, entered into her well deserved Heavenly Rest at St. Mary's Health and Rehab of Campbell County on Sunday, November 21, 2004. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. Artie was a gentle, devout Christian lady who is leaving to her family and friends an outstanding Christian legacy of what a Christian should strive to be in this life. She accepted the Lord Jesus into her heart as a young adult and had a been a member of the Indiana Avenue Baptist Church for the past 45 years. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Kelly Lay; parents, Sam and Nettie Minton; twelve sisters and brothers; and son-in- law, Harold Jenkins. She is survived by a large and loving family: son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Shirley Lay of Rockford, IL; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Jenkins of Louisville, KY; Betty and Ron Tidwell of LaFollette; Charlene and Donnie Jones of Oliver Springs; Barbara and Joe Powell of Louisville, KY; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Vernie Minton of Middlesboro, KY; special nephew, Arthur Massengill of Cincinnati, OH; niece and husband, Eula and Glen Miracle of Spring City, TN; also a host of other special friends and relatives. The family of Artie Lay would like to thank and recognize special friends and caregiver, Georgia Shepard and Jodi Whalen. The family will honor the homegoing of Artie Lay on Tuesday, November 23 from 6 to 8 pm with her praise service to follow at 8 pm with her Pastor Rev. Mark Partin and grandson Rev. Matthew Jones at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. Grandsons and great grandson will serve as pallbearers. The interment will be held at the Baird Cemetery at 12 noon Wednesday. Martin Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of these arrangements. PISTELLO, YVONNA GAIL CHAPMAN - age 51 of LaFollette, passed away on November 19 at her home. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Mrs. Pistello was a nurse and worked in LaFollette Medical Center Emergency Room before going to work at Brycliff Health Care Center in Oak Ridge till she retired in 1998. She loved the outdoors, fishing, swimming, and waterskiing. She also loved her family very much. She is preceded in death by: grandparents, Blaine and Ollie Chapman and Johnny and Alma Henegar; nephew, Sammy Richardson. Mrs. Pistello is survived by: husband, Micheal Pistello of LaFollette; daughter and son- in-law, Robin and Rex Kitts of Jacksboro; daughter, Melissa Pistello of LaFollette; grandchildren, Robin and Ryan Kitts of Jacksboro; parents, Arlis and Helen Chapman of LaFollette; sisters, Shelia Strunk of Huntsville, Karen Miller of LaFollette, and Melinda Richardson of Jacksboro; 8 nieces and nephews; and host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services 8 pm Tuesday in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Braden officiating. Interment will be 11 am Wednesday in Bakers Forge Cemetery.
