I'm going to cross post this to Scott and Campbell Co, TN and Whitley Co, KY I am looking for someone that has researched the James CHITWOOD Martha WHITE Family or the HAMBY Family. I see all over the net where their son, William CHITWOOD was first married to Sarah REED and then he was married to Rachael HAMBY, abt 1825. No one has her parents or any other info on her or her marriage. I do find them in the 1830 and 1840 census of Campbell Co, TN. Then they are found in the 1850, 1860 and 1870 census of Scott Co, TN. I believe they may have moved to Whitley Co, KY before going to Scott Co, TN because I can find Land Grants for William CHITWOOD in 1827, 1841, and 1853, while he was married to Rachael. I believe that he went to Whitley Co, KY and married Rachael there and I also believe she was not a HAMBY but Racheal SMITH, daughter of Josiah SMITH, who ends up in Scott Co, TN. At first I thought maybe the HAMBY was a married name but she was only 16 when she married William CHITWOOD and I doubt if she married any earlier then that. Does someone have any info on them?
