From The Oak Ridger 12 May 2004 Bea Grayson, 78, of Oliver Springs, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at Harriman Care and Rehabilitation Center. Born Oct. 8, 1925, in Hodges, Ala., she was the daughter of Clayton Floyd and Myrtle Smith Engle. She moved to Tennessee in 1944. Mrs. Grayson was an active member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, where she was also a member of the church choir. She was employed by Tennessee Eastman Corp. at the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant from 1944 to 1952. She and her husband owned and operated Grayson's Grocery of Oliver Springs for 11 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, I.V. Engle. Mrs. Grayson is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bill Grayson; her daughter, Pamela Brown and husband, Stephen, of Ozark, Ala.; two sons, Larry Grayson and wife, Brenda, of Knoxville and Doug Grayson and wife, Sandy, of Camdenton, Mo.; a brother, W. T. Engle, of Tecumseh, Mich.; two sisters, Jackie Engle of Knoxville and Linda Davis of Oak Ridge; five grandchildren, Jay Grayson, Amy Grayson, Dustin Adcock, Lindsay Grayson and Erin Grayson; and by five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2004, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Garvan Walls and the Rev. Keith Price officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church cemetery in Oliver Springs. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Payne Denton Roscoe McNutt, infant son of Jimmy D. and Angeleque J. McNutt of Oak Ridge, died Monday, May 10, 2004. In addition to his mom and dad, he is survived by his sisters, Brittany LeAnne Humphrey and Cameron Abriel McNutt; his grandparents, Joseph R. Morin, Margie Morin, Carl Denton McNutt, Wayne and Margaret Farrar and Charlie and Pat Duncan; his aunts and uncles, Holly K. Morin, Richard and Danielle Duncan, Bill and Kay Farrar, Bob and Brenda Cody, James and Telena Bowling and Machelle White; and by six cousins, Brian Farrar, Courtney Farrar, Nicholas James Bowling, Abby Gail Bowling, Jeff Cody and Sherry Cody. A private family graveside service will be Wednesday, May 12, 2004. Jessie Daegan Seth Thacker, 6, of Rocky Mount, N.C., died Saturday, May 8, 2004, in Kinston, N.C. Born in Greenville, N.C., he was the son of Stephen F. Thacker Jr. and wife, Gina, of Knoxville and Melanie and Jimmy Walker of Rocky Mount. In the few short years he was with us, Daegan was a joy and inspiration to all his family, friends, and health professionals who helped care for him, his family said. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Steve and June Thacker of Oak Ridge, Libby Stamper and Jerry Dunbar, Jessie F. and Cindy Stamper of Kinston, Jimmy and Nancy Walker of Rocky Mount; cousins, Lori Trentham, Katie Trentham and Luke Trentham, all of Seymour, Tyler Johnson of Maryville, Kennedy Brock and Karson Brock, both of Knoxville, Corey Watlington of Augusta, Ga., and Mason Higgins, Hannah Higgins, Rebeckah Stamper and Joshua Stamper, all of Kinston. The funeral was held Sunday, May 9, 2004, at Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, Va. The graveside service was at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield.
